Rex was a year old on February 2nd.  He has been in foster care with CPR since last fall.  He was hit by a car last summer in Kentucky and was surrendered to the vet there for euthanasia. He has since had 2 surgeries on his knee and went through extensive recoveries both times.  He has done very well and now it is time for Rex to start looking for his forever family. We know exactly the kind of home he needs. Rex loves other dogs but he is big and plays rough. No tiny dogs. For the same reason, no small children. Older kids who understand how to handle big dogs would be great. He doesn't do well with cats, so no kitties.

He would love another big dog friend.  He needs a family who will understand his issues with his leg and that complete recovery probably won't happen for months, if ever.  He may never have 100% function in his knee, but it is so much better than it could have been!  He needs someone who is willing to get out and walk him daily to help build the muscles back up in his leg.  He will likely have ups and downs just like a person with an orthopedic injury.  He will need to be on high quality foods and high quality supplements for the rest of his life.  He is an absolutely gorgeous boy with an amazing personality.  He loves going in the car and being with his people.  He walks well on a lead and is great in his crate.

The $250 adoption fee includes full vetting, the DHPP, Rabies, Bordatella, Canine Flu vaccines, spay/neuter and microchipping.
